The district would first like to thank you for all of your support with Alberta Education’s Emerge Wireless Laptop Project this year. It has been a busy, interesting time with teachers and students getting used to 24/7 access to resources and the new course management system named Moodle.
The researchers from the University of Calgary and Metiri group, as well as the Distributed Learning branch of Alberta Education have been out to observe classrooms, hold focus groups with parents, teachers and students and central office personal. They have been impressed with the students, our schools, and staff.
If you were not able to be a part of the focus group, PLRD would like to extend a welcome to add your comments and opinions through a survey titled, Laptop Project Survey 08-Parents, that is posted on the PLRD website. The survey link can be found below.
The laptop project continues for another two years. For more information read Prairie Land’s project proposal, Emerge Goals: Leading into the 21 st Century under Initiatives on the PLRD website.
For more information regarding the project, contact your school Principal or Central Office Project Lead. We welcome your questions and comments.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to complete the survey!
