WWII Comic Strip

World War II was a turbulent time in the history of the world.  Nations from around the world found themselves involved in various situations of conflict and cooperation.  In order to further understand the relationships between nations and the events leading up to WWII, students create short comic strips to demonstrate the conflicts and cooperation between nations.

Instructions:

  1. Choose an event from the Inter-War period (1919-1939) or during World War II (1939-1945).
  2. Create a brief storyboard of 6 to 8 panels to illustrate the events and interactions for this event.  Try to include incidences of conflict between nations, as well as cooperation between other nations in your illustrations.
  3. You may draw your comic strip by hand, using letter-sized copy paper, or 11x17 copy paper.        OR
  4. You may use the comic strip creator found at the ReadWriteThink webpage, to create the basic features of your comic strip.  You will need to add details to the basic strip after you have printed it.

Evaluation:

You will be evaluated using the rubric similar to the one at the ReadWriteThink webpage.
