Part Time Temporary Position
This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. October 12th, 2018 in accordance with CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.
Within a school-based setting, the Family Resource Worker will assist students and their families with a wide range of social, emotional and behavioral challenges. The worker will possess the necessary counselling skills to support students and their families in resolving these problems or concerns in a safe and healthy manner. The worker will provide individual counselling, crisis intervention, coordinate access to services, facilitate preventative programming and referrals while working within a whole child approach. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a high level of sound and independent judgement along with commitment to confidentiality. Documentation and maintenance of records and compliance with current legislation and protocols are expected.
This is a term position to start immediately. You will be expected to work approximately 30 hours per week primarily in the Morrin area. Travel to other areas within the division may be necessary. Duration of this appointment will be dependent upon the return of the permanent employee.
Preference will be given to a candidate who has acquired a College Diploma or a University Degree in a human services/health related field (a degree in Social Work would be preferred). A combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered. You must hold a membership or be eligible to hold a membership within your professional designation. You will possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license, along with valid insurance and a reliable vehicle for travel. Excellent communication skills, effective planning and organizational strategies, and the ability to contribute within a team environment are essential. Confidentiality is imperative.
